Gansu Province, situated in the ecologically fragile northwest China, is a core site of the Three-North Shelterbelt Project. Over 40 years, generations of Gansu locals have turned “sandstorm fronts” into “scenic routes” with the perseverance of “humans pushing back deserts”, forging an ecological miracle of the Yellow River’s stable flow.
To showcase Gansu’s ecological achievements, technological explorations and humanistic spirit in the Three-North Project, we launch the special series “Green-Covered Longyuan · Miracle of the Three-North”. With real cases, character stories and ecological data, it deciphers Gansu’s ecological miracle in a Gen Z-friendly way and tells compelling stories of Gansu’s forestry and grassland in ecological civilization construction.
On September 24, 2025, Episode 3 “Snow Leopards Return: Humans Got This!” went live. Witness how this ordinary forestry worker has guarded the land with footsteps and original aspiration for nearly 30 years, writing a vivid chapter of Qilian Mountains’ ecological recovery.
